Q: BMW E60/2008 Funf/five series 550i CD Changer question?
Just wondering if anyone owns the new bmw 5 series (E60), then could someone tell me what the cd changer looks like. Because I know on Mercedes E-classes, the changer is in the boot, which isn't very practical, is it? I mean, is it a slide secret compartment thing behind the radio or what? If you were kind enough, maybe even a picture could explain to me better than words. Just that I am a BMW enthusiast and wanted to know.
Thanks,
Tom
A: Hi Tom
The CD changer is in the glove box. I don't have a picture but it is basically tucked in at the back out of the way so you can still use the glovebox for storage.
I believe there is a cartridge which pops out for you to load your discs into. This may have changed on the very recent models however as the new E70 X5 has a 6 disc changer in the glove box where you load each disc individually.
Hope this helps.

Q: HELP WITH THE NEW BMW!!?
ive just got a new bmw 5 series and it has'nt got a spare tire as it can run for 200 miles with a puncture now my question is how do you know if i has a puncture? does it say on the screen! x x
A: The car will display an orange (low tire) or red (flat tire) indicator on your instrument cluster (and also the I-Drive screen if equipped) to tell you when you have a low or flat tire.
Check your valve stem cap, if it is a gray plastic cap on a hard metal stem, then you have direct measurement, if its rubber with a black plastic or metal cap, then you have indirect. Direct systems (the newer type, measure the tire pressure directly and report it back to the car via radio) if you have indirect, the vehicle monitors wheel speed and notices changes and calculates accordingly.
Also, if you just bought your BMW new, (maybe even used too) most dealerships sell a tire warranty package for 300 to 500 dollars. Well worth it since Run Flat tires are not supposed to be plugged / patched (and MUST be replaced once they are driven flat for any distance) A single tire can cost anywhere from $300 to $500 each.
Q: why my bmw 5 series on slow acceleration jumps and accelerate extremely fast?
Im not use to driving my new used bmw 2003 525i sedan. Before that i was driving a toyota carmy 1989. Anyway, when i driving my bmw i notice that i having a difficult time controling a constant acceleration. It would start out extermly slow so i step on the gas pedal just slightly and all of sudden it would acceration extermely fast. the RPM when from 2000 rpm to 3000 rpm in an instant when all i did was step on the gas pedal just slightly during a slow acceleration around 15 mph to 20 mph. However when my car is going at around 30 mph and up, i don't really notice this jump in rpm. My question is this normal, scine im not use to driving a high preformance car or is that some problem with my car?
A: It sounds like you may have a defective throttle control switch. Be careful, this condition can be very hazardous in heavy traffic. Is your CHECK ENGINE light turned on? Take you car to a BMW service center where they can read OBD-II FAULT CODES.
Q: Will the new car, I just bought, be a chick magnet?
I flip flopped on so many different cars. (older BMW 5 series, New Eclipse, and Hyundai Tiburon) But now I have decided on a 2004 BMW 325ci convertible. I'm still 16 and in high school so I think girls around my age really think highly of BMWs?
Background info: I'm average looking and kind of shy. But on the positive sides, I dress in nice clothes, am nice person, I think, and workout weekly.
To the girl that said I'm not all that great:... well like I said I'm not a extremely good looking guy nor am I the most outgoing so that's why a nice car would help me with girls.
A: Yeah chicks will dig it!
Q: BMW 5-series question?
I am wanting to get a bmw 5-series for my 16th birthday. I notice how much the value of the beemers drop when the new ones come out. I know, currently I can get an 04 5-series for about 16 grand but a 2003 is like 12-11 grand. Will the new redesign that just came out bring down the 2004's price to the 12-11 grand mark by the end of this year do you think? Also, would you recommend this car. I personally like that it is the cheapest one to get with the newer looking styling. If not, what would you reccomend.
A: The 2004-2010 models, I personally don't like. You should get the 2003 one. You'll have more money to spend on the car.

A: I'm 21 and I have a 2005 m3. I know it's not a 5-series but I love my BMW. I got it for 18.5 grand and 60k miles. It was a complete steal. When I got the car I got it appraised and it's worth about 27 grand. I recommend BMWs because they're such a quality car and it's also very safe. Try looking for an m3! They're a hot car for teenagers, let me tell you. I have an m3 coupe, it's white with tinted rear lights. I'm glad that I chose to splurge and get the best for my money. You'll be glad you do too if you get a BMW.
Q: After joining the Air Force, how long will it take for me to make enough money to buy a new BMW?
I'm 6' 1" and i was thinkin about getting a new 3 series or 5 series. What would yall recommend and how long should i wait. Also how much should i save for a down payment?
Thanks in advance!
A: Okay are you planning to buy or lease? If you are leasing, how long do you plan to lease and how many miles a year will you need? If you plan to buy will you go with a straight purchase or do the select program? What kind of equipment do you plan to get? Are you buying a 35,000 base 3-series sedan or a 65,000 fully loaded 3-series convertible? or are you planning on buying an M5 at just over a hundred grand? All of these things will make a freaking huge difference. So in answer to your question I guess I have given you more. Figure in any direction for a first time buyer you will need about 45% down unless you have an 850 credit score Co-X that makes over a hundred grand a year.

A: Believe me, you will not be able to afford the insurance for a BMW being a 16 year old. I recommend you to buy a normal 4 cylinder car.
Q: What wheels will fit a 1987 E28 BMW 5 Series?
Just bought a 1987 E28 BMW 5 series to take part in a charity rally and but it needs some new tyres as existing wheels are old metric ones and tyres are a fortune. So we have decided it is probably just better to replace the wheels and tyres together with a used set off ebay. Problem is though I am lead to believe that not all 5 stud wheels will fit, and not even all original BMW 5 stud wheels.
So i need some advice..... what wheels can i buy to fit?
Which model number BMW wheels can i buy to fit straight on?
A: The standard size was a 6x14 wheel with 195/70/14 tyres, I had one. Some of the wheels from the E34 will fit, but not the wider 15" ones, as you'll run into arch clearance issues. Suggest you try one of the many BMW breakers yards you'll find up & down the country, as they'll always have wheels. Look at Google or Yellow Pages.
Q: Is BMW car company at 22 Garden Close,Stamford,Lincs,PE9 2YP,UK a valid business? Do they conduct lottery?
I got an email notifying I have just won a brand new BMW 5 Series, M Sport Saloon car and a cash prize of £500,000.00 GBP in the satellite software email lottery. On line Sweepstakes International program held on 30Th of july 2007/2008 conducted by BMW LOTTERY BOARD in which my e-mail addresses was pick randomly by software powered by the Internet. Is this valid lottery or a Haux ?
A: BMW don't do lotteries. This is a scam. Delete the mail, don't answer it.
Q: I drive a new BMW 540i - should this need topping up with oil all the time?
The dealership said that new BMW's need topping up with oil. I think this is rubish. I have owned 3 new BMW's and I ahve never had this problem before - unless this is something to do with V8's?
It might be the sensor though - it keeps going off telling me that I am below the one litre minimum. I then put a liter in and the info tells me that the sump is now full!
The car hsa already been in once - they said they replaced the sensor but who knows.
Is this a problem with V8's - or is it a software problem on the 5 series?
Any help would be apreciated.
A: does it have a dip stick?
if so what does that say...
Q: Getting a bmw cant decide which one 3 series or 5 series?
ok so im getting a BMW not new but 2005 -2009 i cant decide between the 3 series and 5 series i want more of a sports look and should have many tune up options i want it to be conferable but have good performance, i want high performance but dont want to be unconformable driving i cant decide on sedan or coupe either i know the 5 series only comes in sedan and the 3 series in both but i want comfort for me n my passengers im only 18 so dont need nothin for a family
p.s. if u have more then 1 bmw that you think i would like put them all down i'll take a look at them thx
A: I recently went through this problem too. I went with the 3-series of course. The 3-series reminds me of a younger, sportier look, where a 5-series reminds me of a doctors car. I recently purchased a 330ci convertible, and I love it. I have friends who have 5 series, and I wouldn't trade them at all. Although, BMW has its own distinct styling, there is so many nice things you can do to add/upgrade the car. The 5-series is too "sophisticated" to be messed with.
Hope you chose the 3-series...
good luck
Q: is it possible to trade a leased bmw for a new bmw?
im asking if its possible to trade a 528i that was leased about 6 months ago for a new 5 series F10 version. i know there might be a new down payment but im willing to pay another down payment for a new 5 series. i want the latest model and i dont feel as good with an older model of the 5 series
basicaly im asking if you can trade a car that was leased from bmw.... for a new bmw . i think maybe they will accept the deal because im buying from them no?
im planning on buying from pacific bmw in glendale CA. if the location helps
A: ask them the worst that can happen is they say no
Q: Is the new ///M1 series BMW the new ///M3 BMW?
With the new range of BMW's all having grills that remind alot of people of sharks or other odd creatures... making the german executive marque extremely unpopular..
The best looking out the lot being the 5 Series and the one series coupe, I expect it to out sell the new 3 series coupe. With 3 series coupe looking like a boat or maybe the german marque have copied the 1990's Alfa Romeo Spider.. which also looked like a boat! Just look at the back of the two!!!
have Bmw not reincarnated the late 80's/early90's Italian??
look at the back opf the car only and maybe you too, will see the similarities??!!

A: Big difference between the 135i and the new M3. However, I do believe the new 135i with its more classic proportions and twin-turbo engine could gain cult status.
Q: i wanna import a car to india its bmw 5 series and right hand drive that car is 5 year old?
what are the charges of custom and duty and ihave to pay on the price of a new car or the current price of that car
A: Bring it in pieces and get it assembled here! It will save you a LOT!
