A: You might not get many answers for this one if you mean the 2011 BMW 5 series. Most people who will buy the 2011 Model are waiting for the 528I sedan to come out for sale, which actually was today!!!!!! The 528i sedan was just posted on their BMW site about 45 min ago so Im going to go ahead and build my 528i for fun!! The National MSRP for the BMW 528i is $44,550. It Rivals the Audi A6 at $45,200, the Lexus GS at $45,600, the 2011 Infiniti M at $46,250, and the Mercedes E-class at $48,600. Ironically the BMW 5 series undercuts all its rivals in terms price but its still offers less standard then its competitors. The 2011 BMW 528i produces 240HP standard which is horrible when compared to its rivals like the 2011 Infiniti M37 with 330 HP standard at $46,000. The new 2011 5 series still has alot of testing and reviews to go before a final judgement can be made on the car. So far it has only been a month since the new 5 series with bigger engines have been put up for sale in this market.

A: “The E in the E-code stands for Entwicklung, which means evolution or development in German. Motor Trend reports that BMW will be dropping the E-code and using a new F-code as the E-code is already nearing it’s limits in terms of numbers since it’s reached 90 already with the latest 3-series. The 2009 BMW 7-series will be called the F01 and the L long wheelbase version (750iL?) will be called the F02. The next 5-series will be known as the F10. Note that facelifts do not entitle a new chassis code as it is essentially the same platform with a facelift.”
they simply ran out of E numbers. next logical letter would be F, the new 7 series was dubbed F01, quite fitting for the flagship car to start off a new series!

I have heard so many negative things with the BMW’s iDrive system. But can someone explain to me what is so bad with it? What does it actually control? How does it function? Im asking as I am think of purchasing a BMW 5 series new shape.
I see! It appears we have mixed feelings on this subject. From what your all saying it appears BMW are using a sledge hammer to crack a nut…..CD player – One button to turn on – BMW iDrive – 12 buttons to turn on by the sounds of it!!??
A: Imagine trying to program a DVR that was designed by the Post Office. It’s extremely difficult to navigate, unintuitive and you have to page through about three dozen menus just to find something — all while driving in speeding traffic.
Screw that crap — just give me a car with a f***ing button to push when I need the GPS or stereo or climate control.

& FYI, i’ma girl who is EXTREMELY responsible. the people who said i was “extremely spoiled” or a “snobby rich kid” is just jealous because my daddy did something good with his life to provide a good life and luxury for his family.

A: I think all of you people calling this person a spoiled rich kid is just mad. You guys are just mad and jelous that your parents couldnt afford for you to drive a brand new BMW for your first car, so all I have yo say to that is stop hating. People are always happier when someone isnt doing as good as them, but when someone is doing better, they want to start all of their negativity. All though that is an expensive car for a 16 year old and its a fast car. I really dont think this persons parents would let him/her drive it if they didnt believe they were responsible enough to have it. All i can say to you is just be carefull with it and enjoy the lime light. I just wish I had a car at 16 and it could have been a pinto for all I care……..lol. I think that you should ignore what people say and keep doing what ever you are doing to make your parents feel comfortable enough to let you have a first car like a BMW, because apparently you are doing something good. Q: 04 5 series bmw high mileage concerns?
hi,looking at a 04 new shape 5 series 2.2petrol… its really cheap (4-7k less than others) but has 125k miles on the clock….as i only wanted a sunday car i thought it might be ok? also it has bmw fsh and a 12 month warranty…i also know the only previous owner and its nearly all motorway miles….would really appreciate any advice you could offer! cheers!
A: A four year old BMW with 125K.
These cars don’t really start working until they get to 200K you will be fine.
Just make sure the high mileage is reflected in the price
You say a 12 month warranty which suggests you are buying from a dealer. Not so good news. Really hammer the price down. Make sure you know the real value of that mileage car before you go in with an offer.

A: yes its 2001 bmw 528i. for the movie they make it look like an M5 but its actually an automatic, i don’t think the m5’s came in automatic during those years.

A: Nope. BMW has 5×120 bolt pattern while the Highlander has 5×114.3 bolt pattern.

A: I would rather have BMW cos they just take my fancy more…I like both those 5’s. I recently sold my M5 (E60), but I really did like the design of it. I also have an old 5, and I think they’re a pretty nice looking car aswell. I think that most Mercs are pretty ugly…haha. Lexus’s look even worse, and I like a few Audi’s, but they don’t look as good as the BM’s. BMW is good for reliability, looks, and as Jeremy Clarkson would say POWERRRRR! Haha.

I guess you wanted an objective answer to this one.
Generally, the five, being a bigger heavier car does have a smoother ride.
A lot will depend on the engine you select, the straight six is smoother than the straight four, the V8 is a lot smoother than the straight six etc.
Try them and see.
On the X3, cannot comment as I have no experience. Don;t wish any experience either. (Is that a comment?)

Q: Why do BMW reccomend a higher tyre pressure for the rear tyres?
For my rear wheel drive 2005 (55 reg) BMW 5 Series new shape – Bmw recommend 33 psi front and 41 psi rear. Why is this?
A: The 5 Series has a slightly heavier rear axel weight with monster trunk lid, fuel load, rear passenger load, and possible trunk luggage. The wider tires (staggered) on the rear will spread the load significantly. I think BMW was trying for a 50/50 balance but could not always control the car’s loading when the cornering was in an aggressive handling attitude. I hope you got the RUN FLAT tires off your car, too.
