A: Yes you have to tell them unless it was a factory fitted option from new in which case it is not a modification. They can use it as an excuse not to pay a claim if you do not tell them.
They might happily cover the car still, increase the price a little but treat any claim as if the extras were not there – return to standard.
The cost will vary depending on the insurer, some will flatly refuse to cover it at all, you need to ask the insurer.

A: No, don’t do it get an old car becasue new cars are too expensive and you will loose a lot of money on them.

A: Quarter mile time for the X5(2005) is 14.510 @ 96.2 MPH. And for the RRS(2006) it’s 16.410 at 85 MPH. And sorry to correct my last answer, the X5 was from 2005(I didn’t see the dates), so I would assume the new X5 would be a tad faster.
